What Is ChanTan Studio? A Plain-English Guide
ChanTan Studio builds real websites and apps from a plain description — no code, no servers, no jargon. Here's what it does, what it costs, and what you get.
ChanTan Studio builds websites and apps for you from a plain description.
You type — or say — what you want: "an online store for my honey business", "a booking page for my salon". The AI writes the whole thing: the pages, the design, the photos, and the parts that save data.
You never touch code. You never have to know what a database or a server is.
When you want a change, you ask for it in the same chat, the way you'd ask a person.
One screen, two sides
Everything happens on one screen.
- On the left you talk to the AI.
- On the right you watch your app appear and click around inside it, live.
When you're happy, one button puts it on the internet with a real web address.
The five things worth knowing before you start
1. You are always in control of your changes. Every build is saved as a version, and there's an "Undo" button under the chat. Nothing you build can be permanently lost by asking for one more change.
2. Credits are spent by work, not by time. A small text edit costs very little. Building a whole site from scratch costs more. If a build fails or you stop it, you're charged only for the part that finished.
3. The preview goes to sleep. Come back later and see "Your app is sleeping"? Nothing is broken — tap "Wake up".
4. Your app is private until you publish it. The preview link is temporary and just for you. Pressing "Publish" is what creates the real, permanent address you can share.
5. You can talk instead of type. There's a microphone for dictating your request, and you can even have a spoken conversation with a ChanTan AI expert who then writes the request for you.
What you can build
Anything you can describe in words. People build online stores, booking pages, portfolios, dashboards, membership sites, internal tools for their team, and more.
Your apps can save real data — customers, orders, sign-ups — and ChanTan sets that up behind the scenes without asking you a single technical question.
Your apps can also be multilingual. Ask for "add French" or "translate my site to Arabic" and you get a working language switch, with correct right-to-left layout for Arabic, Hebrew, Persian and Urdu.
What it costs
There is no monthly subscription for building. ChanTan uses a prepaid credit wallet.
| What you do | What it costs |
|---|---|
| Creating a project | Free |
| Building and editing with the AI | Credits, based on the real work done |
| Generating a photo | A small credit charge, shown before you confirm |
| Hosting a published app | First month free, then 128 credits per month per published app (less than $1) — that charge is switched off during the beta |
| A build that failed or that you stopped | Only the work that actually finished |
$1 buys 128 credits. Your balance is the ⚡ lightning-bolt number in the header — click it to open your wallet.
⚠️ Before a build runs, some credits are set aside as a hold, not a charge. When the build ends, the unused part comes back to your balance automatically. You never have to ask for it.
What ChanTan is not
- Not a template picker. There is no gallery of themes to choose from. You describe what you want and it is built for you.
- Not a code editor. You can see your app's code (under "Manage" → "Code"), but changes are made by asking in chat — that's what keeps every change tracked and undoable.
- Not open to everyone yet. ChanTan is in closed beta. Anyone can create an account, but a person approves it before you can build.
How you get started
- Create an account — email and password, six short steps. (There is no Google or GitHub sign-up.)
- Wait for approval — the waiting screen unlocks itself; nothing to fill in.
- Describe your app in the big box on the dashboard and press "⚡ Generate".
- About 2–4 minutes later, your first version is on screen.
✅ That's the whole product. A box you describe things into, a preview that shows the result, and a "Publish" button that makes it real.
Honest limits
- The AI is very good, not perfect. Sometimes it asks you questions before building rather than guessing wrong — answer them, or press "Skip all".
- Big builds are more comfortable on a computer than on a phone, even though the studio works on both.
- There is no ZIP download of your code today. To get your code out, you connect GitHub and push to a private repository on your own account.
- Bought domains do not renew automatically today — note the renewal date and contact support before it.
