ChanTan Pro, Pro Max or Ultra? What the builder picker really changes, what the $ / $$ / $$$ marks mean, and why the default is usually the right answer.
ChanTan has three builders. They all build your app — they just work in different ways and at different costs.
If you are not sure which to use: leave it on "Chantan Pro". It is the default for a reason.
1. Find the picker
Look at the small row under the message box in your project chat — the builder you are using sits on the left. The picker is also on the dashboard, next to where you type your first request.
2. Read what each one is for

All three check their own work before handing it back — that is the "Verified builds" part.
3. Pick one and send your next message
Choose a builder, then type as normal. The choice applies to your next message.
✅ Done! The row under the message box now shows the builder you picked, and your next request is built with it. Your project, your files and your history are completely unaffected — switching builder never changes anything you already made.
What the $ / $$ / $$$ marks really mean
They are a relative cost hint, not a price. Bigger builders do more work per message, so they usually cost more credits.
The real cost of any build always depends on how much work that build needed — never on a fixed price per builder.
Can I switch back and forth?
Yes, any time, as often as you like. There is no penalty and nothing to confirm.
A useful habit: build the everyday things on "Chantan Pro", and switch to "Chantan Pro Max" for the one page whose design really has to stand out.
Other things you may see
- All three builders carry a "Beta" tag today — in the picker and on the dashboard. It's on every one of them, so it isn't a reason to prefer one over another.
- The narrow row under the chat box shortens the name to its last word. "Chantan Pro" shows there as "Pro BETA", "Chantan Pro Max" as "Max BETA" and "Chantan Ultra" as "Ultra BETA". Same three builders, less space for the name.
- The dashboard shows a card with ratings out of 10 for speed, quality, security and reliability.
- Builder names and descriptions are shown in English in every language — that is expected, not a bug.
Honest limits
- The picker chooses how ChanTan builds, not what it builds. A vague request stays vague on every builder — if the result isn't what you wanted, the fix is usually a clearer message, not a bigger builder.
- Switching builder mid-project is safe, but it does not re-do earlier work. To change something already built, ask for it in the chat.
