The ChanTan Studio Dashboard: A Guided Tour
Every button on your ChanTan Studio dashboard in plain words: the build box, project cards, folders, search, notifications and the credit balance.
The dashboard is your home screen. You land here after you log in.
It does two jobs: it's where you describe a new app, and it's where all your existing apps are kept.
The bar at the very top
| What you see | What it does |
|---|---|
| "ChanTan Studio" | Click it any time to come back to this page |
| ⚡ and a number | Your credit balance. Click to open your wallet, top up, or spin the daily prize wheel |
| 🔔 bell — "Notifications" | Opens the notifications panel |
| 🌐 globe — e.g. "English" | Switches the studio between English, العربية, Français, Español and ไทย |
| Your photo | Opens your account menu |
| 🌙 / ☀️ — "Toggle theme" | Light or dark. Your choice is remembered |
Two extra gift chips appear only when you have something waiting: "Daily Spin" when your free wheel spin is ready, and "{n} rewards to claim". Both take you to the billing page to collect them.
Your account menu (click your photo) shows your name and email, then four links: "Dashboard" · "Settings" · "Trash" · "Log out".
ℹ️ The bin is only reachable from that menu. There is no bin icon on the project cards — that's deliberate, so nothing gets deleted by a stray click.
The build box
Under the greeting "Welcome back, {name}" sits the big box headed "Describe it. We'll build it."
That box is how you create a project. There's no "New project" button and no template chooser.
Full details are in Build your first app.
Your project cards
Below the box, every project you own appears as a card: a picture of your site, its name, and on hover a status badge.
| Badge | Meaning |
|---|---|
| "Active" | Ready and idle |
| "Building" | The AI is working on it right now |
| "Running" | Its live preview is awake |
| "Error" | Something failed — open it and look |
| "Stopped" | Its preview is asleep |
Cards also show "Created {date}" and "Updated {ago}".
Seeing a coloured square with a letter instead of your website? The picture is a photo taken of your site after it's built. Until that happens, you get the letter tile. Open the project to see the real thing.
The "•••" menu on a card gives you: "Open in new tab" · "Rename" · "Duplicate" · "Add to File" · "Move to Trash".
Finding things
Search. The box says "Search projects...". It matches the project name only — not your description and not your chat messages. It does search your older projects, not just the ones on screen.
Filter buttons: "All" · "Favorites" · "Recent" (the 5 you touched last) · "Running".
Favorites. Click the ☆ star on a card to add it, click again to remove it.
View and sort. Three views — "Grid view", "List view", "Compact view" — and a sort menu with "Last edited" (the default), "Newest first", "Name A-Z", "Name Z-A" and "Most files". Your view choice is remembered between visits.
⚠️ "Most files" currently has no effect — the counts it sorts by aren't being filled in. Use "Last edited" or "Name A-Z" instead.
Showing more. The grid shows 9 projects at a time. "View more projects" loads more, in growing batches. Changing the filter, folder, search or sort resets it back to 9.
"Files" are folders
The wording says "File", but it behaves as a folder that groups projects.
- Create one with the dashed "New File" button. Name it up to 80 characters — "Client work", "Restaurants", "Personal".
- Folders appear as chips with a count. Click a chip to filter to it, click again to leave it.
- Only the first 3 folders show as chips; the rest hide behind the "•••" button next to them.
- Add a project to a folder from the folder icon on its card, or from its "•••" menu → "Add to File".
⚠️ Double-clicking a folder chip deletes that folder (on a phone, press and hold for about half a second). The chip's tooltip says so: "Click to filter · double-click to delete". You still have to type the word
DELETEto confirm — and deleting a folder never deletes the projects inside it.
Notifications
Click the 🔔 bell to slide open a panel with everything the studio has told you, grouped "Today" / "Yesterday" / "This week" / "Earlier".
Each row has a ✕ ("Remove"), and "Clear all" empties the list. When there's nothing left you see "You're all caught up."
Typical messages: 🎁 "Your daily prize is ready!", ⚡ "2,101 credits left", ✅ "Saved — your change is in the code", ℹ️ "1 credit charged for this photo".
⚠️ This history lives in the browser you're using, not in your account. A different computer, a different browser, or cleared browsing data means an empty bell. Only the newest 60 items are kept. Nothing is wrong — your builds, photos and credits are all intact.
Deleting and restoring — nothing vanishes
Deleting a project moves it to the bin, and you can put it back with one click.
To delete: card "•••" → "Move to Trash". You must type the word DELETE in capitals to switch the red button on. (If your studio is in another language, you type that language's word — for example SUPPRIMER in French or ELIMINAR in Spanish; the confirmation box shows you the exact word.)
To restore: your photo → "Trash" → "Restore". It comes straight back to your dashboard.
Projects stay in the bin until you delete them yourself. Nothing is erased automatically.
✅ Binned projects don't count towards your 2,000-project limit — so moving projects to the bin really does free room to create new ones, without erasing anything.
⚠️ "Delete" inside the bin erases a project forever: "This action is IRREVERSIBLE. All files, chat history, and versions will be permanently removed." You type
DELETEto confirm, and there is no way back after it.
Things that look wrong but aren't
| What you see | What it actually means |
|---|---|
| "Welcome to Chantan" card instead of projects | You have no projects yet. If your projects genuinely failed to load, you'd see a connection message instead — so this card can never mean lost work |
Your credit number shows -- |
The balance couldn't be read at that moment. It does not mean zero. Reload the page |
| "We couldn't load your projects. They're safe — this is a connection problem." | Exactly what it says. Press "Retry" or reload |
| A project made in another tab isn't showing | The list is held for up to about a minute. Wait and reload |
| A coloured strip pinned to the top | A notice from ChanTan. If it can be closed there's a ✕ — "Dismiss announcement" — and it never comes back on that browser |
Low-balance warning
When your balance gets low, a pop-up appears once in the corner: "⚡ {n} credits left" with "Top up now so your builds never have to stop." and a "Fund your wallet now" button that opens billing in a new tab, so nothing you're doing is interrupted.
It starts appearing at 3,000 credits or less.
