Using ChanTan Studio on Your Phone
ChanTan Studio runs in your phone's browser — build, chat, preview and top up on a small screen. Here's what works well, what's easier on a computer, and why.
Yes — ChanTan Studio works on a phone. Open it in your phone's browser and sign in exactly as you would on a computer.
The dashboard, the chat, the preview and your wallet all adapt to small screens.
ℹ️ There's nothing to install. ChanTan Studio runs in the browser. Add it to your home screen if you like the shortcut, but there's no app store download involved.
What works well on a phone
| Thing | On a phone |
|---|---|
| Signing in and browsing your projects | Works normally |
| Describing an app and pressing "⚡ Generate" | Works normally |
| Following a build and reading the chat | Works normally |
| Checking your credit balance and topping up | Works normally |
| Dictating with the 🎤 microphone | Better than typing on a small keyboard |
| Calling a ChanTan AI expert with "Call us" | Works normally |
| Watching the live preview | Works, on a small canvas |
The microphone is your best friend here
Typing a long description on a phone keyboard is miserable. Talking isn't.
Press the round blue microphone on the build box ("Tap to speak") and just describe your idea out loud, in any language. Your browser asks permission once.
You get Pause, Cancel and "Done — transcribe", and your words land in the box as text.
Nothing is sent automatically — you always read it and press Generate yourself. Recordings can run up to about 10 minutes, with a warning at 8.
Checking how your app looks on a phone
This is a different question from using the studio on a phone — and you don't need a phone to answer it.
The apps you build are responsive by default — they adapt to phone screens on their own.
To check, use the device sizes in the preview toolbar: desktop, tablet and phone. Switch to phone and the preview reshapes to a phone-sized screen.
If something looks wrong at phone size, just say so in the chat — "the menu overlaps the logo on mobile" — and it gets fixed.
Gestures that differ on a phone
A few things you tap-and-hold on a phone instead of double-clicking:
- Deleting a folder chip is a press-and-hold of about half a second (on a computer it's a double-click). You still have to type
DELETEto confirm, so a slip can't destroy anything. - Seeing what a builder chip does — tap the chip that's already selected to reveal its description and ratings (on a computer you hover).
- Settings sections — the six sections in Settings scroll sideways instead of sitting in a column.
What's more comfortable on a computer
Building big things is still easier on a computer. Nothing is blocked on a phone, but these are cramped on a small screen:
- Reading a long plan before approving it
- Watching the chat and the live preview at the same time — on a phone you see one at a time
- Clicking around inside your app to test it properly
- The direct-edit mode, where you click text and photos in the preview to change them
A reasonable pattern: describe and dictate on your phone, review and polish on a computer.
You can move between devices freely
Builds run on ChanTan's side, not in your browser.
Start a build on your phone, lock the screen, open your laptop — the chat catches up with everything that happened. You may see "Connection lost — reconnecting..." on the way; that's your connection, not the build.
⚠️ Two things are per-browser, not per-account. Your 🔔 notification history and the "Finish sound" setting live in the browser you're using. Your phone's bell will look empty even if your laptop's is full — nothing is wrong, and none of your builds, photos or credits are affected.
If something misbehaves on a phone
| What you notice | What to do |
|---|---|
| The page seems to load forever | Refresh the page. Right after a ChanTan update, an already-open tab can hang until reloaded |
| "Your app is sleeping" in the preview | Normal — tap "Wake up" |
| "Your microphone is blocked" | Allow microphone access for ChanTan in your browser's site settings, reload, and tap the microphone again |
| The microphone says it's busy | Close other apps or tabs that may be using it |
| The finish chime never plays | Browsers only allow sound after you've interacted with the page. It returns after your next tap |
Honest limits
- There is no native iPhone or Android app — it's the browser, and that's the whole story.
- Your built apps don't automatically follow your phone's dark mode. If you want a light/dark switch inside your app, ask for it: "add a dark mode toggle to my site".
- The studio's own theme is separate from your app's — the 🌙 / ☀️ "Toggle theme" button in the header only changes how ChanTan Studio looks to you.
